What’s the Box Office Performance of Thug Life After 9 Days

Despite huge anticipation around the pairing of Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam, Thug Life has been underwhelming at the box office. After creating buzz with its grand release, the film has seen a noticeable drop in collections over its first nine days, still falling short of the ₹50 crore mark in India. The decline in audience turnout has been consistent across the Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi versions.

Industry reports suggest that the film brought in only about ₹75 lakh on its second Friday — the lowest single-day figure since its debut. This significant dip signals waning audience interest and weaker word-of-mouth than expected for a film of this scale.

The thug life vhad started off decently, Earning around ₹15.5 crore on Day 1, However, the following days saw sharp drops. Day 2 brought in close to ₹7.1 crore, and Day 3 collected around ₹7.7 crore. Even the weekend couldn’t help the film push past expectations, and the weekdays that followed only worsened the trend.

Given its estimated budget of over ₹150 crore, trade experts are now placing Thug Life among the year’s most underperforming films. The combination of high expectations and low returns has made the film a talking point in industry circles — though not for the reasons originally hoped.
