LEE CRONIN’S THE MUMMY: A Brutal New Vision

Horror fans have something chilling to look forward to with Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, arriving in cinemas on April 16. After the massive success of Evil Dead Rise, writer and director Lee Cronin returns with a bold and twisted reimagining of one of the most iconic horror legends of all time.

This is not a traditional retelling of the classic monster tale. Instead, Cronin presents a deeply emotional and disturbing story centered on a broken family. The plot follows a journalist whose young daughter mysteriously disappears into the desert without a trace. For eight long years, the family lives with unanswered questions and unbearable grief. Then, in a shocking turn of events, the girl suddenly returns. What should have been a joyful reunion quickly becomes a terrifying nightmare as dark secrets begin to unfold.

The film stars Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, and Veronica Falcón, bringing emotional depth and intensity to this haunting narrative. The project is produced by horror powerhouses James Wan, Jason Blum, and John Keville, ensuring a high level of suspense and cinematic quality.

Behind the scenes, Cronin is supported by a strong creative team. Cinematographer Dave Garbett captures the eerie desert landscapes, while production designer Nick Bassett creates an unsettling atmosphere. The haunting score by Stephen McKeon adds to the tension, making the experience even more immersive.

Presented by New Line Cinema, Atomic Monster, and Blumhouse Productions, the film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros Pictures.
