The Upcoming Movie Akhanda 2 Thaandavam is all set to bring back the power and intensity of one of Tollywood’s biggest blockbusters. Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, the film marks the much-anticipated sequel to the 2021 hit Akhanda, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role.

Produced by Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta, and Ishan Saksena under the banners 14 Reels Plus and IVY Entertainment, the movie promises to take the Akhanda legacy forward with more grandeur, scale, and emotion. The film stars Samyuktha Menon as the female lead, while Aadhi Pinisetty plays the main antagonist. Child actor Harshaali Malhotra joins the cast as Janani, marking her Telugu debut.

Nandamuri Balakrishna once again appears in a dual role — as Akhanda and Murali Krishna — bringing together spirituality, strength, and action in one powerful performance.

The production journey of Akhanda 2 Thaandavam began after director Boyapati Sreenu officially confirmed the sequel in early 2024. The film was launched with a traditional muhurtham ceremony on 16 October 2024 in Hyderabad. Major portions of the movie were filmed across Hyderabad, the Himalayas, and Kumbh Mela, with additional key sequences shot in Georgia. Filming concluded in the first week of August 2025, and Balakrishna completed dubbing by 29 August 2025.

The film’s music and background score are composed by Thaman S, who also worked on the first installment. Cinematography is handled by C. Ramprasad, known for his visually striking work that enhances the film’s intense atmosphere.

The first teaser of Akhanda 2 Thaandavam was unveiled on 9 June 2025, coinciding with Balakrishna’s birthday, receiving strong responses from fans and audiences alike.
