Following the critical and commercial acclaim of Maamannan (2023), actors Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu found themselves at the center of fresh collaboration buzz. The news stirred excitement when it was revealed that Super Good Films, under the production of R. B. Choudary, was preparing a new venture featuring the two stars in Maareesan. Initially, details about the cast and crew remained confidential.

On January 1, 2024, the project was officially announced as Super Good Films’ 98th film, confirming Sudheesh Sankar as the director and Fahadh and Vadivelu as the leads. Later that same month, the movie was officially titled Maareesan, signaling the beginning of a unique cinematic journey.

Music in Maareesan

The movie ropes in an accomplished technical crew, with Yuvan Shankar Raja composing the music, Kalaiselvan Sivaji handling the cinematography, and Sreejith Sarang in charge of editing. This collaboration of seasoned talents hints at a visually rich and musically engaging experience.

The film also sees the beloved on-screen duo Vadivelu and Kovai Sarala reuniting after their last appearance together in Mersal (2017), directed by Atlee.

In addition to the main cast, Maareesan features an impressive supporting lineup including Vivek Prasanna, Sithara, P. L. Thenappan, Livingston, Renuka, Saravana Subbiah, Krishna, Haritha, and Telephone Raja, each bringing a layer of depth to the story.
